Walt Disney World says: "Suitcases, bags, coolers or backpacks, with or without wheels, larger than 24" long x 15" wide x 18" high (61 cm x 38 cm x 46 cm) are not allowed in any theme park or water park." Our pick is to keep the carry-on at the hotel and bring a small daypack into the park. The trade-off is a second bag in your luggage, though a daypack that folds flat packs inside the carry-on.

## The park bag limit at Disney World and Disneyland

Both resorts print the same limit in the "Prohibited Items" list of their park rules. The Walt Disney World [Property Rules](https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/park-rules/) say: "Suitcases, bags, coolers or backpacks, with or without wheels, larger than 24" long x 15" wide x 18" high (61 cm x 38 cm x 46 cm) are not allowed in any theme park or water park."

The Disneyland Resort [park rules](https://disneyland.disney.go.com/park-rules/) use the same sentence with a shorter ending: "Suitcases, bags, coolers or backpacks, with or without wheels, larger than 24" long x 15" wide x 18" high (61 cm x 38 cm x 46 cm) are not allowed in any theme park." Disneyland's sentence ends at "any theme park", where Disney World's goes on to "or water park".

Both pages follow it with the same two sentences on coolers: "Loose or dry ice is not permitted in these containers. Re-usable ice packs are recommended."

Disney's limit applies at the park gate. For what airlines allow in the cabin, see [carry-on limits by airline](https://onebagkit.com/carry-on-size-and-weight-limit-by-airline/index.md).

## Strollers and wagons

Both prohibited lists include: "Strollers that are greater than 31" (79 cm) in width and 52" (132 cm) in length."

Disney World follows that item with: "Stroller wagons are also prohibited. Wagons are prohibited at any theme park or water park." Disneyland lists wagons as their own item: "Wagons, including stroller wagons."

For bringing a stroller or a diaper bag on the flight, see the [diaper bag guide](https://onebagkit.com/diaper-bag-carry-on-allowance-by-airline/index.md).

## What to pack for Disney World by month

- Light shirts and shorts for every month, and one pair of long trousers for the plane.
- Two pairs of broken-in walking shoes, so one pair dries while you wear the other.
- A thin rain jacket or poncho from June to September, the months with the highest rainfall below.
- A fleece or warm layer for December to February evenings.
- A refillable water bottle and a reusable ice pack for the park bag.

NOAA NCEI monthly normals 1991–2020 for Orlando airport, station USW00012815, "ORLANDO INTL AP, FL US", as printed in °F and inches.

| Month | Normal max | Normal min | Precipitation |
|---|---|---|---|
| January | 71.8 °F | 49.5 °F | 2.48 in |
| February | 74.9 °F | 52.4 °F | 2.04 in |
| March | 78.9 °F | 55.8 °F | 3.03 in |
| April | 83.6 °F | 60.7 °F | 2.58 in |
| May | 88.4 °F | 66.3 °F | 4.02 in |
| June | 90.8 °F | 71.6 °F | 8.05 in |
| July | 92.0 °F | 73.2 °F | 7.46 in |
| August | 91.6 °F | 73.7 °F | 7.69 in |
| September | 89.6 °F | 72.4 °F | 6.37 in |
| October | 84.7 °F | 66.2 °F | 3.46 in |
| November | 78.3 °F | 58.2 °F | 1.79 in |
| December | 73.8 °F | 52.9 °F | 2.48 in |

By our sums, Orlando airport's normal highs run from about 22 °C in January to about 33 °C in July, and its normal lows dip to about 10 °C in January. These are 30-year averages for one airport station and don't forecast a trip. Disneyland's side of this page covers the rules only.

By our reading, a daypack well under 24 by 15 by 18 inches is inside the limit at both resorts. For deciding on a day bag and what to put in it, see the [daypack guide](https://onebagkit.com/do-you-need-a-daypack-one-bag-travel/index.md).
